MERCHANDISING CASE STUDY

Havaianas

How we helped the world’s leading flip flop brand perform even better in the market.

Background

Havaianas, from humble origins in Brazil, has become the biggest brand of flip flops in the world. For the surf and beach wear channel in Australia, the sales of Havaianas is the biggest source of revenue for many stores. But there was a problem. Many in-store displays didn’t live up to brand expectations.

How we helped – assisted sales through strategic merchandising

Despite performing well, Havaianas required merchandising support for assisted sales growth. Most stores either had a wall, single-sided or double-sided branded display. Many of these were suffering from poor stock management and did not display adequate pricing, promotions and marketing collateral. We built a program that provided maximum retailer coverage across the eastern seaboard. We provided a field force to do merchandising and inventory control at stores, replenishing stock as needed. We also worked with the client to devise a questionnaire to capture key shopper insights. While in-store, staff also took note of stock and display presentation (including taking photos), which was included in weekly reports.
